Since 1998, Proficient Technologies, Inc. has been dedicated in assisting customers with their ID-Detection and Age-Verification needs. From assisting a liquor licensee from obtaining a fine to helping a law-enforcement officer with ID-Detection and verification of the identity of a potential criminal suspect, we have always been the answer to our customers ID-detection and age-verification needs.
Before purchasing an ID-detection or age-verification device, it is imperative to know that your ID-Detection device MUST contain the following features:
I. Translation: Our ID devices actually detect fake-ID cards, not just reads them like many of the other devices in the market. For instance, we have a database of every format, of every driver’s license & State ID, from every U.S. State, (including Washington D.C.) that is continually updated from the records that we obtain from each State “DMV” (Department of Motor Vehicles) center. These records are then remotely updated into your ID-detection equipment, via-phone line, on a continual basis. Therefore, your equipment is always updated with all of the new and latest driver’s license and State ID data from every State DMV. (Please note: a phone line is not required at any time during operation of ID-detection and/or age-verification device, it is only required when conducting annual DMV updates and/or software downloads.)
II. Manual Key Entry: Approximately 15% of the driver’s licenses and State ID’s that you receive will be damaged, meaning that the ID is either scratched and/or worn in some form or even demagnetized by airport scanners. Furthermore, the states of Wyoming and Georgia have yet to implement magnetic and/or barcode encoding on the backside of their State ID’s. Consequently, you will be unable to check these ID's with any type of ID-detection equipment because it is unable to read the magnetic strip or 2D barcode. However, we have what’s called, “Manual-Key-Entry”, which allows you to manually enter the Driver’s License or State ID # into the unit, using the keypad on the front of the equipment. This option allows you to card all 51 states, including New Mexico and Washington DC, 100% of the time, due to this unparalleled feature.
III. Integrated Printing System: This feature allows you to print your State, 'Declaration of Age' card, with all of the customer’s information such as their name, age, DOB, DL#, time stamp, address, eye color, height, class, etc, already imprinted on the card, which was derived from your previous scan. After the card prints, you simply have the customer sign the receipt and compare the signatures, to assure they match. As a result, you have just saved 5-10 minutes, which is the approximate time that it would have taken you to properly fill out the 'Declaration of Age' card manually with a pen or pencil. The printing system also allows you to print end of day, week and monthly batch reports, for proper record keeping. You can even upload all of the customer’s information to your PC for a mailing list or to simply keep them on file to assure your legal protection, in the event that you may need to access your customer database on a later date.

Almost every continental State in the U.S. has passed legislature or otherwise 'Affirmative-Action' that supports the use of age-verification and/or ID-detection devices, which is continually updated on a regular basis. Please check your local and State law's for verification of what type of age-verification and/or ID-detection equipment is required to protect your business from fines, suspensions, license revocations, etc..
